Tracy S. Anderson

Executive Chairman

Tracy S. Anderson has established an impressive career in the medical market by integrating his expertise as a skilled surgical technician with his corporate experience. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Anderson began working in the medical industry as a Cardiopulmonary Systems Specialist with Baxter Healthcare. After Baxter, he helped develop two intraocular lens companies, Ioptex, Inc. and Chiron, from the ground up.

In 2002, Mr. Anderson founded Atlanta-based T2MED, Inc., one of the Southeast’s most innovative private companies in the growing spinal device market. In 2008, he merged T2 into Amendia, Inc. as one of its founding partners. With Mr. Anderson as the President of its Sales and Marketing group, Amendia grew to over $85 million in sales before being acquired by private equity for $190 million. In December 2012, Mr. Anderson licensed a unique stem cell lineage from the University of Miami for potential use in general orthopedics. In March of 2013, VIVEX Biologics was spun out from Amendia as a freestanding entity.

In November 2014, Mr. Anderson was instrumental in the acquisition of the University of Miami Tissue Bank, the oldest and one of the most prestigious human tissue facilities in the world. UMTB immediately became VIVEX Biologics, a fully owned subsidiary of VIVEX Biologics, Inc. In July of 2019, Mr. Anderson transitioned from his role as President and CEO to the role of Vice Chairman. He remains a member of the Board of Directors. Through his leadership and innovation, VIVEX Biologics has grown to become a leading tissue and cell therapy company with scientifically based technologies, an unsurpassed patent portfolio, and significant revenue in the spine and orthopedic space.

Throughout his career, Mr. Anderson has partnered with some of the medical industry’s top experts in the areas of general orthopedics, spine surgery, sports medicine, cardiovascular surgery, ophthalmic surgery, and oncology. He is a member of several other professional organizations and advisory boards, including the Advisory Committee for Surgical Technology at Gwinnett Tech in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Michael Minardi, Esq.

Director

Michael C. Minardi is the Senior Partner at Minardi Law.  For over 20 years, Michael has dedicated his practice to fighting for clients charged with cannabis crimes and advocating for cannabis law reform and personal freedoms. Michael’s practice represents clients in corporate cannabis consulting, application preparation, lobbying, forfeiture matters, civil litigation, and criminal matters. He has won many medical cannabis cases, including several landmark high-profile cases in Florida.  He won the first and second jury trials ever in Florida presenting the medical necessity defense to cultivation and possession of cannabis charges.  Michael has represented over 40 patients using marijuana for medical purposes, and over a dozen veterans, including defending Kristoffer Lewandowski in Oklahoma, a ten-year marine veteran, in who was facing 2 to life in 2017 for cultivating five plants.  Michael’s advocacy includes being the Campaign Manager of Regulate Florida, a Lifetime Member of the National NORML Legal Committee, Board member and Legal Director of NORML of Florida, and Co-founder of the Tu Canna 420 Foundation, and aspirations to get elected and be able to make positive legislative changes for the industry.

 

Mark Rusche, Esq.

Director

Mark recently retired after spending 38 years as a partner at Alston & Bird LLP , an Am Law Top 60 law firm based in Atlanta.  Mark’s career focused on commercial real estate, where he handled transactions such as representing Virgin Galactic in connection with the development of Spaceport America, representing KPMG in major lease transactions across the U.S. for over 30 years, handling virtually all of the development, acquisition and sales transactions for Prudential’s senior housing funds (over $5 billlion in transactions) and, more recently, representing Hines in connection with the Microsoft lease negotiations at Atlantic Center in Atlanta, representing Selig in connection with the Google lease transaction in Midtown, Atlanta, representing BlackRock in connection with their major lease transaction on the Beltline in Atlanta, Georgia and representing NBC Universal in connection with the development and leasing of their 20 studio complex on the old GM site in Atlanta.  Mark served as the Chair of the Piedmont Park Conservancy Board for three years, served on the Board of Central Atlanta Progress and is currently on the Board of the Bobby Jones Golf Course Foundation.

Archie F. Lowe, CLU®

In 1995, Archie founded Peachtree Benefit Group, an Atlanta-based insurance brokerage firm that specializes in corporate benefit planning and consultation. Through exceptional leadership and strategic vision, he has led the firm to its designation as an “Elite Broker” with Anthem of Georgia and has attained exclusive status with many other leading national insurance carriers.

Since its inception, Peachtree Benefit Group has grown to include more than 200 clients throughout the United States across a multitude of industries in the private and public sectors. In addition to providing traditional employee benefit broker services, Peachtree Benefit Group offers clients a full spectrum of solutions-based services and advises them on industry best practices, changing healthcare legislation, the leading benefit technology platforms and executive benefits.

A native of Athens, Ga., Archie graduated from the University of Georgia in 1978 with a degree in Business Administration. He completed the American College of Financial Services designation program to earn his accredited Charted Life Underwriting (CLU) designation in 1986. Archie served as Chairman of Legislative and Governmental Affairs for the Georgia Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (GAIFA), is a member of the Anthem of Georgia Advisory Board and is a Partner with Acrisure LLC, the fastest growing insurance brokerage firm in the United States. He is a member of the Advanced Association of Life Underwriters (AALU) and National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) as well as a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).

In addition to his service within the insurance industry, Archie is active in many civic and charitable foundations, including the Alumni Board for the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, the Presidents Club and McGill Society at the University of Georgia, and Peachtree Presbyterian Church. He is a respected member of the Capital City Club in Atlanta and the Waterfall Country Club in Clayton.

Archie and his wife, Robin, live in Brookhaven.

William C. Tally, MD

Director

Dr. Tally is a MD / Specialist in all aspects of Spine, scoliosis, deformity correction, minimally invasive procedures and endoscopic techniques. Dr. Tally is a fellowship trained in scoliosis and all aspects of adult and pediatric spine and neck care, including fracture, degenerative disc and bone disease, tumor and neural compression. He has dual training in both neurological and orthopedic spine and neck techniques and he specializes in minimally invasive (MIS) and endoscopic surgery.

Harvey L. Simpson, MD

Director

Harvey L Simpson is a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist who has practiced in the middle Georgia area for 29 years. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1983 with a BS degree in Psychology. While at the University, he played on the 1981 SEC Championship football and earned a letter. He attended the Medical College of Georgia and did a residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He enjoys taking care of cancer patients and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He is looking forward to working with the talent that has been assembled on this board.

James Greer

Director

Throughout James’ career he’s drawn on consulting expertise to empower companies to secure a commanding presence in their respective fields, particularly in biologics and the orthopedic hardware space. His unique approach to blending sales with operational finesse, has a proven track record of facilitating influential relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare executives, thereby ensuring sustained success and influence. James currently serves as Area Vice President of Sales at Vivex Biologics.

Donald J. Mock

Director

Don left the west coast for the live oaks of Savannah, GA where he earned his design degree from the renowned Savannah College of Art and Design. From there, he landed a prestigious gig with Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta and never looked west again. He is currently managing partner and creative director of MOCK, the agency, a firm he founded in 2007. Unlike his incredibly tiny dog, his creative chops are huge.
